A Merrick resident and a mother of two young children, Lisa Lin is deeply engaged in her community and possesses the knowledge and experience to lead the district towards a brighter future.
Lisa began her career in public service following her graduation from John Jay College, where she worked with justice-involved youth to reintegrate into their communities through job training and educational programs and connecting them with opportunities.
Lisa went on to graduate from Saint John’s University School of Law and for the past ten years has continued to work in public service. Lisa currently serves as the Supervising Court Attorney, overseeing a team of court attorneys, playing a crucial role in managing a court that handles over 30,000 criminal cases annually.
Lisa will fight to support a robust and well funded public education system and to keep our communities affordable and safe and will work tirelessly to build a more secure future for our children. If elected, Lisa will represent the interest of all those with similar values and concerns.
Lisa is a true problem-solver and strong collaborator and will deliver results through common sense, and a solution-oriented approach. She brings a fresh perspective and will always fight to improve the quality of life for the residents of District 5, advocating for the safety of our communities, working families, the elderly, and small businesses.

Stand Up For Working Families
Long Island has become unaffordable for too many families and too many are struggling to provide for their children and save for retirement. Lisa will eliminate wasteful spending and prioritize putting money back into the pockets of working families.
Get Serious About Safety
We need a serious approach to public safety that works for all of us. Our families and communities deserve to thrive in a safe environment. I stand for safety, accountability, and justice, and I will build safer communities with real solutions. We must support local law enforcement and foster a relationship built on trust with the community. Supporting police in their challenging roles while holding them accountable is essential. Reducing crime through community violence prevention, youth employment, and mental health and addiction treatment is achievable. By focusing police efforts on the most serious issues, such as removing dangerous illegal weapons from the streets, we can create safer and more just communities for everyone.
Defend Public Education
Education is a crucial aspect for future success. Investing in education means investing in school facilities and supporting our educators so they can provide quality education to our children.
Advocate For The Disability Community
Lisa understands that members of the disability community deserve to live fulfilled and dignified lives. They are our friends, neighbors and members of our family. Lisa will ensure they have the resources to thrive within the communities where they live. That also includes standing up for the dedicated direct support staff that works tirelessly on behalf of some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers
Stand Up to Hate and Bigotry
Hate and bigotry have no place in our politics or our communities. Lisa will continue to stand against Islamophobia and Anti-Semitism in all its forms. If elected she pledges to expand funding for the “Securing Communities Against Hate Grant “ which provides money to houses of worship and other potential targets of hate crimes to improve security measures.
Protect Our Environment
Climate change is real. Lisa will step up and make sure that Nassau County is protected and prepared. She will fight to ensure a future for Nassau County clean air, clean water and a greener future.
Advocate For Reproductive Freedom
With recent court decisions (Dobbs and LePage) that threaten to curtail reproductive freedom, Lisa vows to ensure that these rights are protected in NY through legislation.
Support Seniors
Our elderly community deserves quality health care and support to live a dignified life. Lisa vows to remove the hurdles that will hinder access to quality care and services to maximize their quality of life.
Promote Small Business
As a daughter of immigrant parents whose livelihood and family depended on the success of their small business, Lisa would fight to ensure small businesses thrive in Nassau County. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities — their success is a sign of a healthy economy.
Fight For Common Sense Gun Laws
Every year, 117,345 people are shot by a firearm and gun violence is now the number one cause of death for children in the United States. Following the tragic shooting in Buffalo, NY it is painfully clear more must be done to protect our communities from this epidemic. Lisa will fight to pass legislation so our schools and communities remain safe and will hold gun manufacturers accountable.
